Illuminating Meet-Up

I checked the internet today to see if there were any photographers in the area to meet up with. I found a group based around hiking and photography. Illuminate Workshops (www.illuminateworkshops.com) held a gathering today to go over photographing national parks. When I talked about my plans and the trip I’m on, they freely offered up advice and guidance on where to go and what scenic roads to take. I'm definitely going to check out Guanella Pass which they suggested. It's a scenic bypass outside of Georgetown, CO. I was also told that if I visit Capitol Reef National Park (which I probably will) I should take Hwy 12 when leaving the park.

I like this method of travel. Meet people, figure out where to go and what to see. Then meet some more people.
