A New Beginning

I'm leaving Kansas City. My home for the past 30 years is now in my rearview mirror. I'm beginning a journey across America. This is a trip I've dreamt about since childhood. Often dreams get disrupted by life and that's just what happened to me. School, work, relationships; all distracted me and seemed to guide my life on their own. Now that things have changed and the anchors in my past aren't as strong, I'm striking out on my own trip of discovery.

I don't expect any grand epiphanies or revelations on my trip. I know that any major change in life comes from within rather than without. What I do expect is to meet new and interesting people and to experience fresh and beautiful places. I'm open to the experience of life, wherever it takes me.

Nothing is really planned on this trip. I've started with a general target and will go from there. I'm heading to the Omaha Zoo. A relatively close trip but one that will get me started.
