Capitol Reef
I camped last night just outside of Capitol Reef National Park. I woke up and entered the park before sunrise to hopefully catch some good light. As I entered the park there was a group of mule deer grazing and pulling leaves off of a low tree. Since it was still before sun up, I had to use a high ISO and therefore the pictures are a little grainy but still nice shots.
Capitol Reef is the largest water pocket fold feature in the world and creates some interesting geology. Because of the recent storms, part of the roads are closed off due to flash flooding. I was still able to get some good shots around the park. Since the features in the area trap water, this area has seen it's share of land holders. From the natives to the Mormons to present day government, this area has been well cared for and protected. I didn't take as much time as I should have here but I'm happy with what I captured.
